I have been in a funny mood the past week or so. I don't know if it's because I'm excited about the prospect of my upcoming mini vacation in Florida, or if I'm just happy about life in general. Whatever the reason, when I found the book with an eyebrow-raising premise that I am featuring as my WoW pick this week, I chose it because it just fits my mood :-) I hope you feel the same way! Written by Suzanne Selfors and debuting on August 21, 2012 from Walker & Company...

Emmeline Thistle has always had a mysterious bond with cows, beginning on the night of her birth, when the local bovines saved the infant cast aside to die in the forest. But Emmeline was unaware that this bond has also given her a magical ability to transform milk into chocolate, a very valuable gift in a kingdom where chocolate is more rare and more precious than gold or jewels. Then one day Owen Oak, a dairyman’s son, teaches Emmeline to churn milk into butter—and instead she creates a delicious chocolate confection that immediately makes her a target for every greedy, power-hungry person in the kingdom of Anglund. Only Owen loves Emmeline for who she truly is, not her magical skill. But is his love enough to save her from the danger all around her?

In a departure from her contemporary teen romances, Suzanne Selfors crafts an irresistible re-imagined fairy tale that will tempt readers with a delicious story of love that is sweeter than the richest chocolate.

So, whaddya think, dear reader? I know, I know. There's a pretty girl in a dress on the cover and that synopsis is kooky! Cows, chocolate alchemy, a dairyman's son, romance, and danger? SIGN ME UP!  I admit, I snorted when I first read the synopsis, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that this could be a wonderfulstory. I have decided to give it a chance, and I hope you will, too :-)

What special book are you waiting on this Wednesday? Leave a link below so I can stop by for a visit!

Happy reading, dear reader!

This is very intriguing... definitely looking forward for this one. The cover reminds me of Entwined tho for some reason?

When you first read the synopsis you're like "WHAT?!" but at the end it makes sense. A fairytale that sounds a little different and the whole chocolate thing is pretty cool. I hadn't heard of this one so thanks for bringing it to my attention.

When I saw this cover on your Goodreads, I was intrigued but I didn't have time to click over. The book's premises is definitely different. Cows! Chocolate! Still, its a fairy tale. I love fairy tales.

Ha, I kinda thought you were playing a trick on us when I read about the girl and the cows! But I have enjoyed another of Suzanne's books, Mad Love, so I'd be keen to read this too!
