BlookGirl Giveaways

Today, I celebrate six wonderful, life-changing months since the birth of BlookGirl.com! I have grown so much in the past six months - as a reader, as a writer, and as a friend. I have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, from publicists to authors to other book lovers, and I've been to amazing events, from book signings to Teen Book Con to TXLA 2012. My life has been a whirlwind since I started blogging, and I would not have it any other way.

I have made it to where I am today not only because of my love of books, but also because of you, dear reader. You cheer me on and you keep me going, even when I wonder if I'm insane for spending so much time reading, writing reviews, Tweeting, and reading some more! This is especially true for my Best Blogger Friends, Jenni @ AlluringReads and Giselle @ XpressoReads. They make me "laugh out loud" every single day. Jenni and Giselle have been so amazing and are always willing to lend an ear or shoulder when needed. I simply love them!

In honor of this auspicious day, I thought I would say "thank you" to those of you who support BlookGirl by visiting and commenting (and thereby making me grin from ear-to-ear) by offering a simple giveaway.

Next week, the Fierce Reads Tour will be here in Houston at my favorite indie bookshop, Blue Willow, and I will finally meet Leigh Bardugo, author of Shadow and Bone. This book quickly rocketed to the top of my Book Wish List for 2012, and I have been anxiously awaiting it for what seems like eons. Leigh has no idea what awaits her in Houston.... Noooo idea ;-)

So, dear reader, I will be offering a signed hardcover copy of Shadow and Bone -AND- a swag pack of assorted book swag from Born WickedReVampedIf I LieGrave Mercy and more! Simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below, and the two winners will be chosen on June 30, 2012!

I am very excited to participate in this particular Giveaway Hop because it means I can feature my most favorite kick-butt character in Young Adult literature: Katniss Everdeen! Seriously, folks, so many people who read The Hunger Games always declares whether they're Team Peeta or Team Gale, but I declare that I am Team Katniss! To further support this declaration, and to give you plenty of reasons to become Team Katniss, too, I am giving away a paperback copy of The Girl Who Was on Fire (Movie Edition): Your Favorite Authors on Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Series:

This book contains short essays from sixteen different authors who "take you back to the world of the Hunger Games with moving, dark, and funny pieces on Katniss, the Games, Gale and Peeta, reality TV, survival, and more. From the trilogy's darker themes of violence and social control to fashion and weaponry, the collection's exploration of the Hunger Games reveals exactly how rich, and how perilous, Panem really is." I am currently reading this wonderful book and have been completely enraptured by the different points-of-view these authors have shared. It will certainly make you see the characters, and indeed, the Games themselves, in a completely different light. If you're a true fan of The Hunger Games, you WANT this book!

I am so thrilled to participate in my first Giveaway Hop! These hops are a fabulous way to network with bloggers and readers, and most importantly, to promote a love of books and literacy.

The criteria for this hop were to either give away a book or something that a reader, blogger or author would enjoy. Since it was hard to choose just one book, I thought I'd leave the decision to the winner! I am giving away a $20 Amazon gift card so that the winner can choose a book (or two!) on Amazon that they'd like. This leaves the windows of opportunity and possibility WIDE OPEN! :-)
