Oh man, did I score BIG this past week! What I lack for in quantity (it was a busy week) I made up for in quality.

The first book I bought was Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi. (I actually bought the eBook for my NOOK):

WORLDS KEPT THEM APART.

DESTINY BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER.

Aria has lived her whole life in the protected dome of Reverie. Her entire world confined to its spaces, she’s never thought to dream of what lies beyond its doors. So when her mother goes missing, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland long enough to find her are slim.

Then Aria meets an outsider named Perry. He’s searching for someone too. He’s also wild – a savage – but might be her best hope at staying alive.

If they can survive, they are each other’s best hope for finding answers

My second score of the week was The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. An autographed copy at that! See, I had the honor and benefit of attending John Green’s The Fault in Our Stars Tour this past weekend, where hundreds of Nerdfighters converged to celebrate the two men behind the Vlog Brothers, John and Hank Green. The event was, in a word, amazing and more coverage of it will be posted soon, over on Random Ramblings. So, without further ado…

Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 12, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs… for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind.
